Power in organizations is rarely limited to formal hierarchy. Titles, reporting lines and governance structures explain part of the system, but not the whole system. Much of what shapes decisions happens through reputation, access to information, informal alliances, stakeholder perception and unspoken expectations.
This research paper explores the hidden dynamics of power inside organizations. It examines how influence moves through formal and informal structures, how perception affects leadership authority and how leaders can understand organizational politics without becoming political in a negative sense.
For leaders, the ability to read power responsibly is essential. Ignoring informal dynamics often leads to failed decisions, stalled change and hidden resistance. At the same time, using power without integrity damages trust and weakens leadership credibility.
This publication invites leaders to treat power as organizational information. Not as something to deny, and not as something to exploit, but as a reality to understand with maturity, transparency and responsibility.
